WHAT IS YOUR PERFECT DAY???

The Upper Hand #17

“The War of Art” is a book a return to when I’m feeling stuck.

I love how Steven Pressfield breaks down feelings I have EVERY DAY.

It’s a book that I would believe was written exlusively for me.

That’s powerful.

This line struck a chord with me today - “Of any activity you do, ask yourself, if I were the last person on earth, would I still do it?”.

Listen - Poker would be pretty difficult flying solo.

But if I move the goalposts slightly - lets say I had zero responsibilites and nobody to answer to - I get to be entirely selfish every single waking moment!

Would my days resemble the ones I live now?

It’s not lost on me how fucking lucky I am to say yeah, yeah it would!

Everyday begins with a stroll to the coffee shop with my wife, my dog and my kid.

There is nothing I enjoy more in life.

Would I still want to study Poker?

100%

Until the day I die, I’ll be learning and playing strategy games, whether it’s my job or not!

Then going for walks in nature or some form of exercise is what keeps me sane, we can’t quit that.

Which means, I pretty much get to do what I want every day.

WHY ON EARTH AM I FEELING STUCK AT ALL???

How can one line in a book make me realise how silly I am being?

Mental.

How does your pefect day look?

If you had complete freedom and nobody to answer to, what would you choose to do?

Sometimes, it’s as simple as having a coffee with your partner every day, but we get caught up in life and just forget to do it.

Maybe it’s just walking your dog.

Or calling an old friend.

Whatever it maybe be, make room for it.

Bye for now, you BEAUTIFUL Fucks!
